Good deals on netbooks at this end of this year

Netbooks are very hot right now. I for one quickly became quite a fan of these mini laptops, as i learned to accept them for what they are and understand their qualities: light, small, portable and with great battery life, while not providing a too powerful hardware.

Anyway, by the end of this year more and more such devices are expected to enter the market, and i for one really believe the best mini notebooks might be a winning choice if you’re looking for a new portable computer. Especially since they became more powerful and just got a proper OS (Windows 7). Also, i am pretty sure prices will drop somehow in the next two months, first because the winter sales period is on its way and second, because more and more such products will enter the market by the end of the year.

So, i do believe you will be able to get quite very good deals on 11.6 inch and maybe 12 inch netbooks , that could easily run all kind of standard applications you might need. If these devices now run for 450-500, I’m pretty sure they’ll drop below $400 in late November – early December (during Black Friday, Cyber Monday 2009 and the next weeks until Christmas). So, if you want such a device, that would be the best period for you to get it.

Why should you buy a Samsung bluetooth headset?

Everybody knows Samsung got his interests in every IT&C niche imaginable and you can’t blame them: every big company has to find a new market to increase its share or the growth stops and the company starts to fall down and from this point to the end there’s little time.

One of the market Samsung enter recently is the Bluetoth headset segment, where they already have experience with their fashion and business touchscreen phones. That’s why its fair to believe that a Samsung bluetooth headset plays nice with a Samsung mobile phone.

What comes as a surprise with Samsung bluetooth headsets it’s the fact that prices are in the very affordable range and the products don’t miss on features either. Design is a top priority mission for Samsung and this shows in the general look of the bluetooth headsets.

Why would you need a gaming router?

If you believe there are IT&C product types that made it into market just to give the marketing department something to do within work hours then you must agree with me that ‘gaming routers’ is one of those categories of products. But after I’ve done some research I’ve come to the conclusion that things couldn’t be any different and I’m going to tell you motives to buy the best gaming router:

* You want a wireless router that can maintain multiple connections simultaneous without loosing any of them. It’s like you’re gaming at a LAN party and you want to make sure that you won’t miss a kill in CounterStrike because you have just been disconnected from the wireless network purposeless
* You want a very fast connection, witch has low latency per sent package that can send multiple small size network packages (this is a common scenario for games in multiplayer mode)
* You need to connect easily and configure the network and also want visual indicators on the router (maybe a display) that help you understand fast what’s going on to your network and why
* You want special configuration web software that will ease up your tasks, not making them more complicated

What’s the best bluetooth headset in 2009

I’m sure you’ll all asked yourself how are top 10 products made, how someone decides what the best for you. Besides the obvious pain reports, that are not even worth mentioning here, there’s a lot of ways to conceive a list of best products in a given domain that will be thoughtful enough for users to trust and consider.

I’m going now to talk about the list of the best bluetooth headset in 2009, list made by me with the help of Amazon where I’ve browsed through the list of the bestselling bluetooth headsets in 2009. It does not include bluetooth stereo headsets as that’s another thing completely. So, let’s see who made it into the list: Plantronics Voyager 510, Aliph Jawbone II, Jabra BT8040, Motorola H800 (old but still good) and quite a few others.

Best gaming keyboards and mouse peripherals for PCs

Most people when buy or build themselves a PC don’t think too much about what’s outside the box (the PC case in this scenario) and that’s a big mistake as peripherals are also things that define what your PC looks like and what it can do for you. This is especially true in the case of computer build for gaming purposes: without a very good combo of gaming keyboard and gaming mouse you can’ t get top scores during multiplayer lan parties.

What I am proposing in this post is a list of gaming keyboards and mices that will not only look good on your desk but also behave well when it comes to gaming. So first let’s see where from I’ve chosed them: top 6 best gaming keyboards on the market and top gaming mices you can buy today.

So, let’s see what are my top choices:

  • Logitech G9 gaming mouse + Logitech G19 keyboard with integrated LCD screen
  • Razer Lachesis 4000 DPI gaming mouse + Razer Tarantula illuminated keyboard
  • Microsoft Sidewinder X5 + Microsoft Sidewinder X6 dual mode gaming keyboard

Hope you enjoy them. Please tell me what you think of them if you happen to own one of those.

Would you buy a new leaf blower this fall?

I know that we’re still in the middle of the Summer, but we had a really big storm a couple of days ago that left my deck filled with leafs and debriefs. So i had to clean everything up. Unfortunately though, my leaf blower got broken last year and i didn’t buy a new one yet so i had to do anything by hand, with a broom and all.

I still got on the Internet later that day and looked for places to buy a new leaf blower, just in case. Also, i was thinking that during this time of the year, most stores will have big price cuts on last year’s models, and i was right.

Cause I just found this site whit lots of good offers on leaf blowers . They even have short reviews and all the products are sold via big names, like Amazon or Home Depot . I also found out from one of their articles that these prices might not remain that low for too long, and as fall approaches they’ll got higher. Thus, i proceed and bought this one: the portable Toro 51599 electric blower . I must say i really got impressed with the low price and the good reviews this product had.

So i’m happy with my new product right now. I didn’t had the chance to test it yet, but there’s time for this. I’m still surprised how far has the Internet grown. If you can buy leaf blowers online now, what’s next? :) )

Perhaps Black Friday may bring me theese?

I just put together my shopping list for this year. Like a wise man, i bought all my snowboard equipment for next winter during the summer, cause i found great products I ordinary couldn’t afford on sales, with up to 40% discounts.

But, i also want a couple of gadgets and electronic devices. No sign of discounts for these right now, especially since some of them are quite new, but i found a site with Black Friday sales for 2009. According to them, they gather there all the best offers available online, so maybe I’ll be able to find these:

  • a Canon 500 body for around 600$ (might be hard, as this one is pretty new)
  • a new Macbook Pro 15″ for as cheap as it can get it (i won’t have great expectations here either. Last year Apple products only had around 3% discounts. This year their laptops are cheaper anyway, so…)
  • a nice 32″ – 36″ LCD High Definition TV (here I’ll stand a chance, cause these kind of products had great prices last year, with almost 50% discounts around Christmas).

These are only the big things. There are some bargains on my list too, like a 7200 RPM hard drive for the laptop I’ll buy, a new set of headphones with noise canceling and perhaps a new phone (the new HTC Hero sure looks great).

But, i’ll just have to wait for the sales period at the end of the year anyway, cause at the momment , i’m kind of broke. Still, i have a new board + bindings + boots + pants + jacket. Yeeey :P

Do we need ebook readers?

They say that we live in the era of speed so we don’t have time to read books anymore. Feeds, podcasts, online streams, all these should be just enough to help us get the info we need. I say that’s stupid.

Not reading books equals long term brain damage. Because books are the one developing your vocabulary, your knowledge field and your cultural level. You have to read them when your a child or an adult, they will never stop helping you.

I for one read when traveling or comuting. But sometimes it’s kind of difficult to carry a big book around everyday, that’s why i enjoy one of the inventions of modern life: the ebook reader. As I’m sure you all know, an ebook reader is an electronic device that can store electronic books and will allow you to easily access them. It has the advantage of being really compact. And it uses e-ink, a technology that gives you an experience similar to the one you feel when reading a real book. So, you’ll be able to use this gadget anywhere, without fearing it will damage your eyes or concerning about visibility in direct sun light like on LCD screens.

These gadgets are actually pretty expensive, that’s why I’d suggest you take a look on some ebook readers reviews before buying one. There are several models on the market, the most known ones being Amazon Kindle and Sony Reader.

You can easily download lots of books for these gadgets, and they are usually pretty cheap (around 4-10$ each). So, you’ll pay more for the gadget, but consider it an investment that mill come off books’ prices in a year or so.

In the end, ebook readers are great. They’re very useful when you can’t bring the real books with them, but they still can’t replace that worn paper sensation in your hands given by an old book found in your grandma’s bookshelf…

The miracle of netbooks

Hey there. I haven’t written anything here for quite a while now. I’ve been quite busy with my other projects unfortunately, but i decided to share now a couple of my thoughts regarding netbooks.

First of all, netbooks emerged on the market 1-2 years ago as a portable laptop with pretty low specs but un unbeatable price. For 300$ at the time, you could get this mini laptop with a screen, keyboard, storage and Wi-fi. Plus, compact size and reduced weight. A perfect recipe for portability.

In reality, those early netbooks were quite difficult to use. But they evolved. Nowadays there are lots of producers in this segment that saw an outstanding growth last year. Asus, Dell, MSI, Toshiba, Acer, all of them are here. Sony and even Apple might join them pretty soon.

Nowadays netbooks are small and pretty light (usually 10″ screens and around 2.5 lbs), come with decent configuration that could easily run Win XP and even the new Windows 7, have great battery life (3-5 hours) and are quite easy to use even for a longer period of time. They’re not as cheap as they were in their early days, but with an average price of $400-500, they’re still a great deal. And you can always find what are the best version by reading some netbook notebook reviews you can easily find online.

So, no wonder netbooks were so well received. I’m really curios what’s going to happen next. You can find on this blog more info on netbooks, including news, reviews and views on how will this netbook segment evolve. What do you think? Will it get even bigger or what?
